We are seeking a motivated, dependable Full-Time Ambulatory Equine Veterinary Technician to support our veterinarians and ensure exceptional patient care on the road.

Job Description:
As a Full-Time Ambulatory Equine Veterinary Technician, you will be an essential member of our mobile veterinary team. You will assist veterinarians with field appointments, diagnostics, treatments, and emergency care while maintaining efficiency, organization, and professionalism in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. This role requires strong equine handling skills, adaptability, and a commitment to excellent client and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Patient Care & Monitoring: Assist veterinarians during ambulatory appointments, including examinations, treatments, diagnostics, and routine preventative care.

  • Emergency & Critical Care Support: Provide technical assistance during emergency and urgent care cases in the field, including monitoring vital signs and supporting patient stabilization.

  • Procedural Assistance: Assist with lameness evaluations, imaging (radiographs, ultrasound), dentistry, joint injections, and other ambulatory procedures.

  • Ambulatory Vehicle & Equipment Management: Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking of ambulatory vehicles; ensure equipment and supplies are prepared and functional for daily routes.\

  • Equipment Care: Clean, maintain, and properly store medical instruments and equipment according to practice protocols.

  • Client Communication: Interact professionally with clients, assist with patient handling, and support clear communication during farm visits.

Qualifications:

  • Availability: Full-time availability with flexibility for varying schedules and on-call responsibilities

  • Certification: Veterinary Technician Certification (LVT, RVT, or CVT) preferred; equine experience required

  • Experience: Previous experience as an equine or large animal veterinary technician strongly preferred

  • Skills: Strong equine handling skills, knowledge of equine anatomy, excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, effective communication skills, ability to lift 50 lbs on a repetitive basis throughout the day

  • Attributes: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adaptability in field settings, attention to detail, reliability, and a compassionate approach to animal care
